摘要

The data for negative ion reflection yields is analyzed using a backscattering model for the secondary emission coefficient. The enhancement of the secondary emission coefficient is discussed in terms of reflection, formation, and survival probabilities. The yield of negative ions from alkali/transition metal surfaces by low energy atoms emitted from the ion-source discharge is calculated. Volume production of negative ions generated by plasma-surface interactions in a low-work-function-surface bucket-discharge is discussed. (ERA citation 06:001720)
