Permeability, Porosity and Capillarity of Hanford Waste Material and Its Limits of Pumpability

Parameters which determine the pumpability and drainability of the interstitial liquid (IL) contained in the 500,000 to 1,000,000 gallon single shell waste tanks located at Hanford are presented. The completion point of jet pumping is defined, and the total quantity of drainable interstitial liquid in single shell tanks is calculated.
