Financing Oil-Shale Communities: Strategies for Private Developers

Efforts are being made which are aimed at helping state and local governments develop plans, develop expertise, and begin preparations for dealing with the emergence of the oil shale industry. These efforts have generated an improved level of understanding of the technical readiness for oil shale technology and the economic fragility of that industry. The purpose of this seminar is to explore and highlight the infrastructure responsibilities and the opportunities for private developers and the skills needed to benefit from these opportunities. A number of experience developers and the skills needed to benefit from these opportunities. A number of experienced developers as well as professional legal and financial experts are participating in this seminar. Speakers' topics include: projected needs for oil shale communities; role and responsibilities for private developers; how to solve the front-end cost problem; and strategies for developers.
