摘要

The static electric quadrupole moment Q sub 2+ and the B(E2;0 sup + -> 2 sup + ) of the first excited state of sup 196 Pt have been determined using Coulomb excitation. The results are Q sub 2+ = 0.79 +- 0.12 eb and B(E2;0 sup + -> 2 sup + ) = 1.382 +- 0.006 e sup 2 b sup 2 . The Bohr-Mottelson model and the 0(6) limit of the interacting boson model fail to reproduce these values when constrained to fit other known properties of sup 196 Pt. (Atomindex citation 17:018559)
