Dynamic Models for Boiler-Turbine-Alternator Units: Data Logs and Parameter Estimation for a 160 MW Unit

The report outlines a number of non-linear models that have been developed for simulation of fossil-fueled boiler-turbine-alternator units. The development, physical basis and parameter estimates of these models are given. The emphasis in this work has been to capture the essential dynamic features of the boiler-turbine-alternator unit within the smallest possible number of equations. An extensive set of data collected from a 160 MW oil fired unit is included, and a comparison of the responses of some of the models to this plant data is made. An IBM formatted floppy disc is available to more easily gain access to the models and data in this report. (ERA citation 14:014644)
