Production of Superheavy Elements and the Limitations to Go Beyond

The work presented has been achieved by a group of physicists, the 'SHIPPERS' of GSI Darmstadt working together since about 10 years. All the experiments are performed using the strong beam of the 'UNILAC' accelerator to produce evaporation residues (EVR), the velocity selector 'SHIP' to separate the EVR's from the primary beam, and an implantation technique allowing to indentify single atoms by their alpha -decay genetics. A comprehensive review of the work was given recently. (ERA citation 13:038575)
