Rapid React IR Method for Monitoring Ester Interchange Catalysis

摘要

The proposal funded the acquisition of a ReactIR spectrometer for use in ester interchange catalysis, a technique with potential utility in the destruction of chemical warfare (CW) agents. A method was developed for in situ monitoring of the decomposition of dimethyl methylphosphonate, a simulant for a P-based nerve agent. This method allowed a number of catalyst additives to be tested with the goal of optimizing performance.
