New Method for Determining the Efficiency of Deposition of Aerosols from a Flow on a Stationary Cylinder.

摘要

Measurement of the efficiency of deposition of aerosol particles from a flow on stationary cylinders, as a function of particle size, involves considerable difficulties. These are due not only to the complexity of the experiment itself, but mainly to the necessity for having a set of reproducible monodisperse aerosols of specified particle size for each experiment. A new method is suggested, which has to some extent already been tested in preliminary trials. It is based essentially on the use of a polydisperse aerosol having a known distribution of particle diameters. (Author)
