摘要

Highly oriented pyrolytic graphite was reacted with SOCl2 and phenylalanine methyl ester to prepare an electrode with chiral surface. The chiral effect in an electrochemical reaction and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopic surface analysis, were used to show that chemical bonding occurs on the edge rather than basal plane of the graphite.
