摘要

A model for the tensile ductility of porous materials has been derived on the basis of the Irwin approach to the elastic-plastic deformation in fracture mechanics. It resolves some of the discrepancies of the Brown-Embury model. Evaluation of the model for examples of AISI 316 and 304 stainless steels shows that tensile ductility depends on not only the pore volume fraction but also the pore size and the mechanical properties of matrix.
