摘要

The formation and evolution of a dislocation dipole has been recorded during an in-situ heating experiment in a transmission electron microscope (TEM) at 740degreesC. The formation took place by pure climb in parallel planes but no subsequent annihilation was observed. Since annihilation was only possible by glide, this Situation indicates that glide in two-fold planes is a considerably more difficult process than climb, at least at high temperature.
