Kuwait Petroleum, Pertamina to Study Indonesian Refinery and PC Project

Java-Kuwait Petroleum International and Pertamina have signed a memorandum of understanding to study the feasibility of building a new refinery and integrated petrochemical complex at Per-tamina's Balongan site in West Java, Indonesia. The two companies are considering a new refinery with between 200,000 b/d and 300,000 b/d of capacity, which could more than triple the current 125,000-b/d capacity at Balongan. Details on the proposed petrochemical complex, as well as downstream marketing activities, were not available.
