Sinopec Sabic Tianjin Petrochemical Achieves Commercial Production

Tianjin-Sinopec Sabic Tianjin Petrochemical Co. (SSTPC) has started commercial production at its recently completed 3-million-t/y petrochemical complex in Tianjin, China (PCN, 18 Jan 2010, p 1).The complex is comprised of a 1-million-t/y ethylene cracker, and plants to produce 600,000 t/y of polyethylene, 450,000 t/y of polypropylene, 360,000 t/y of ethylene glycol, 40,000 t/y of ethylene oxide and unspecified amounts of butadiene, phenol and butene-1.
