Ineos Lifts VCM. S-PVC Force Majeure

Rafnes-Ineos ChlorVinyls on 5 Oct. announced the lifting of its force majeure on vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and suspension polyvinyl chloride (S-PVC) produced at several of its European sites (PCN, 21 Sept 09, p 3).On 15 July 2009, a thunderstorm at the company's Rafnes, Norway, site was "significant enough" to force the VCM plant to shut down and resulted in major problems restarting vital process equipment, Ineos said.
