Eastman Prevails in Wellman's Suit Alleging PET Patent Infringement

Wilmington-The U.S. District Court in Wilmington, Del., has ruled in favor of Eastman Chemical in a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) patent infringement lawsuit filed by Wellman (PCN, 13 Oct 08, p 2). In 2007, Wellman filed a suit claiming that Eastman's production of certain ParaStar PET resins, which are made using Eastman's IntegRex process, infringed two Wellman patents covering titanium catalyzed PET resins and performs made from those resins.
