Aker Contractors Becomes Kvaerner As Part of Aker Solutions Demerger

Oslo-Aker Solutions, as part of a proposed demerger, has identified Kvaerner as the new name for Aker Contractors, its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) business. Last year, Aker Solutions created Aker Solutions, Aker Contractors and Process & Construction International as three separate companies to cultivate its core businesses (PCN, 20-27 Dec 2010, p 3). This past February, Process & Construction was sold to Jacobs Engineering for approximately $913-million (PCN, 7 Feb 2011, p 4).
