HPCL-Mittal Energy Plans PP Project In Conjunction with Punjab Refinery

Punjab-HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd. (HMEL) is considering construction of a polypropylene (PP) plant in Ludhiana, Punjab, India, that would receive feedstock from its new 9-million-t/y refinery now being built at Bathinda, Punjab (PCN, 24 Nov 08, p 2). The Rs 2,500-crore PP plant would have 400,000 t/y of capacity and "would act as the mother industry for developing several medium- and small-scale business units in and around Bathinda," said a report on HMEL's website.
