Fengfeng Group Investing 5-Bn Yuan In Hebei Coal-to-Chemicals Project

Hebei-The Fengfeng Group of China plans to spend 5-billion yuan in construction of a coal-to-chemicals facility at Handan in China's Hebei Province, local news reports said. Construction on the project is scheduled to start this May and the facility is expected to have the capacity to produce 2-million t/y of coke, 700,000 t/y of methanol and 300,000 t/y of coal tar. An anticipated completion date was not given.
