Lukoil Agrees to Purchase 45% Stake In Dutch Refinery Offered by Dow

Amsterdam-Lukoil has agreed to purchase the 45% interest in the Total Raffi-naderij Nederland (TRN) joint venture refinery in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, that Dow Chemical is selling as part of its "de-leveraging plan" (PCN, 25 May 09, p 1). Total, holding a 55% interest in TRN, said it had exercised its pre-emptive rights over the 45% offered by Dow, and concurrently, received a binding purchase offer for the shares from Lukoil.
