EVALUATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF ALLELOCHEMICALS OF Imperata cylindrica (L.) PERS; POACEAE BY USING TLC-UV-HPLC METHODS OF ANALYSIS

摘要

The antibiotic effects of crude extracts of Imperata cylindrica leaves methanol, ethylacetate and aqueous were tested for their bioactivity and the results are discussed. The present study and findings deal with the separation and quantification of different allelochemicals from the leaves of I. cylindrica by TLC-UV spectrophotometric methods. The fractionated compounds were further analysed by HPLC method.
