Efficacy of Insecticides against Caryedon serratus (Olivier) on Jute Cloth Disc Surface

Efficacy of different insecticides on jute surface was studied against Caryedon serratus (Olivier) for six months. Deltamethrin @ 30 mg a.i m~(-2), malathion @ 150 mg a.i nr2 and spinosad @ 100, 300 and 500 mg a.i. m~(-2) caused cent per cent mortality of C. serratus at 24 hours after treatment. Deltamethrin and malathion were effective upto 180 DAT with 60 and 16.66 per cent mortality. Deltamethrin recorded the highest average toxicity and persistent toxicity (PT) of 82.38 per cent and 14828.57 PT index, and was the most effective insecticide followed by malathion with 67.62 per cent average toxicity and 12171.43 PT Index.
