Conferees to reconcile human testing amendments to EPA FY06 budget bill

A one-year moratorium on EPA's consideration of data from human pesticide studies,adopted by a 60-37 vote in the U.S.Senate June 29,is not likely to be Congress'final word on the issue,sources in Washington said last week.While the Senate language is identical to that approved by the House last month banning the expenditure of EPA's fiscal year 2006 appropriations on human dosing studies for pesticide registrations,the Senate also approved by a 57-40 margin an amendment that would require EPA to establish a rule guiding such studies within six months.
