摘要

Natural selection operates at the level of the indivisual with the retention of mutations that bendfit that undividual. However,current understanding from theoretical ecology suggests that the most inportant level of organization for a species is the population, that is, communities are more inportant than the individual, at least in the present day,inmaintaining ecological stabiligy, if the processes that drive evolugion orirate at the level of anindividual, but the succdss is determined at the population level, thenevolutionary development can only be effective if individuals are able to interactwith other individuals of the same species to ensute the succdess of the population.
