Chromatography is commonly used in the downstream processing of biologi-cals. Particular challenges for the manu-facturing of seasonal and pandemic influenza vaccines are: (i) frequent changes in the virus strains and the tight timelines to adopt processes and (ii) the size of the virus leading for con-ventional particle-based resins to pore-diffusion and pore-exclusion limitations in addition to low dynamic binding ca-pacities.
