Two new flow-metering options

As a solutions provider for test and measurement, process control, and analysis instrumentation, Yokogawa has gained an international reputation for research and innovative products. News recently received by "SA Mechanical Engineer" is of two new offerings in the field of flow metering and control: an ultrasonic flow-meter and a vortex flow-meter. The US300 series ultrasonic flowmeter is a clamp-on device, utilising the transit-time principle in metering liquid and high pressure gas flows. An advanced dual microprocessor correlation transit-time signal processing technique, provides superior measurement robustness over conventional devices. Subsequently this results in a high measurement sensitivity and a high degree of tolerance to entrained air bubbles and/or particles. Other significant features of the US300 series are: * Robust, flow calibrated matched pair of transducers * All stainless steel transducers * Menu-driven configuration and operation The advantage of the flow calibrated matched pair of transducers eliminates zero offset, and guarantees excellent linearity and measurement stability. The menu-driven configuration and operation facilitates quick installation and commissioning. The US300 series will be released in two versions, a portable unit for temporary measurements and field service, and a unit intended for permanent installation.
