US refiners are supplying up to 20% of the 275,000 b/d West African gasoline market that used to belong almost exclusively to European suppliers, reports Argus Global Markets. European Union (EU) shipments to Nigeria were roughly 75,000 b/d last year, down from 160,000 b/d two years earlier. At least 1.2mn barrels of gasoline loaded on the US Gulf coast (USGC) in late June and early July to go to West Africa - and the trend should accelerate in the winter, when US demand falls.
