The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) 2012 Global Conference and Exhibition was held in Houston, TX, USA from 14 to 17 April. The 5-day event attracted approximately 2000 attendees from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, regulatory agencies, government and academia, in an opportunity to share best practice, discuss topical issues, catch up with old acquaintances and establish new friendships.The ACRP was founded in 1976 and now has more than 18 000 members from over 70 countries, with 63 Chapters in 18 countries or regions across the globe. The Association works in tandem with the Academy of Clinical Research Professionals and the newly-renamed Association of Physicians in Clinical Research (APCR; formally known as the Association of Pharmaceutical Physician Investigators or APPI).This report is a brief summary of the 2012 meeting, including the welcoming address, plenary session, town hall meeting and a couple of interesting educational sessions.
