STUDIES OF THE STRUCTURES OF CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS, ANALYSIS METHODS, AND PRODUCTION MONITORING USE OF CHROMATOGRAPHY COLUMNS OF RUSSIAN ORIGIN FOR ANALYSIS OF ORGANIC NITRATE PREPARATIONS

Drugs containing organic nitrates have found use in medical practice for the treatment and prophylaxis of angina pectoris and the treatment of acute and chronic cardiac failure [1,2]. The most widespread agents are those containing the following active substances: glyceryl trinitrate (nitroglyc-erin, NG), isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN), and isosorbide 5-mononitrate (ISMN). These are used in different therapeutic formulations: solutions for injection, tablets, capsules, aerosols for sublingual use, and as creams and applicatory therapeutic forms. Nitroglycerin is presented as drops of complex composition for p.o. use which also contain tinctures of valerian, lily of the valley, and belladonna [2]. Monitoring of the quality of therapeutic agents containing organic nitrates, in terms of "dose consistency" and "dissolution," as well as studies of the kinetics of the release of active substances from long-acting therapeutic formulations by high-performance liquid chromatography, is very laborious. In these conditions, reductions in the cost of studies are of great significance.
