Bioefficacy of seven insecticides viz., spinosad @ 125 ml ha~(-1), flubendiamide @ 200 ml ha~(-1), chlorantraniliprole @ 200 ml ha', Diafenthiuron 25 WP @ 750 g ha~(-1), spiromesifen @ 750 ml ha"1, thiamethoxam @150 g ha"' and triazophos @ 1250 ml ha"1 along with untreated check were evaluated against the blossom midge, Asphondylia capsici Barens on capsicum during 2013-14 and 2014-15 under field conditions. Mean per cent damage per plant in pre count ranged from 2.70 to 11.52 and post count from 0.00 to 15.94. The per cent damage was nil with flubendiamide, chlorantraniliprole and triazophos which were at par with each other and significantly superior over other treatments and untreated check (15.94). The ascending order of efficacy was thiamethoxam (11.17) < spiromesifen (10.90) < spinosad (10.10) < diafenthiuron (9.62) and which were on par with untreated check. The per cent reduction over untreated check revealed that flubendiamide, chlorantraniliprole and triazophos were at par with each otherand significantly superior over rest of the treatments and untreated check. The ascending order of efficacy was thiamethoxam (29.0) < spiromesifen (30.10) < spinosad (34.92) < diafenthiuron (38.50), respectively. Flubendiamide chlorantraniliprole and triazophos can recommend to manage the blossom midge in capsicum under field conditions.
