Voser Gets Shell Back Playing to Its Strengths

In his four years in charge of Royal Dutch Shell, Chief Executive Peter Voser has won praise for his streamlining of the "Shell machine " and his prudent, clear-sighted approach to investment. Ahead of both his receipt of this year s Petroleum Executive of the Year award, which will be presented in London on Sep. 30, and his retirement from the company in January, Voser spoke to PIW about how Shell is dealing with the challenge of developing more complex resources and of increased competition from national oil companies and independents.
