BP and Sonatrach to be first new LNG importers

BP and algeria's state-owned Sonatrach will be the first suppliers of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the UK,when large-scale imports start again in just over a year.The companies signed a 20-year agreement with Grain LNG,a subsidiary of Natonal Grid Transco (NGT),giving them the initial capacity at the import facility being developed at the lsle of Grain,on the Medway river,to the east of London.
