The UN aims to host peace talks on the conflict in Yemen in Geneva from 28 May. A three-day meeting between the Saudi Arabia-led coalition and Yemeni factions in Riyadh on 17-19 May predictably fell flat, with the non-attendance of Shiite Houthis and forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh — the two strongest groups opposing Yemeni president Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
