Norway approves Johan Sverdrup plan

Norway’s oil ministry has approved a plan for development and operation for the first phase of the 1.7bn-3bn bl of oil equivalent (boe) Johan Sverdrup field in the North Sea. Project partners continue to aim for first oil in late 2019. Norwegian independent Det Norske welcomes the decision, despite appealing against the ministry’s ruling on the partners’ stakes in the field.
