Russian state-controlled firms Rosneft and Gazprom signed a number of preliminary energy deals with Chinese companies during Russian president Vladimir Putin’s visit to China on 3 September. Not all of the agreements are new, but Moscow is showing more willingness to offer Beijing greater upstream access in Russia.
