Thailand's PTT to ramp up investment spending

Thai state-controlled energy company PTT has increased its five-year capital spending plan by 14pc, countering a trend of producers slashing investment to cope with lower crude prices. Investment spending over 2017-21 will total almost 339bn baht ($9.4bn), exceeding the Bt297bn that PTT budgeted for 2016-20. Capital expenditure will jump by almost 65pc from an estimated Bt50.8bn this year to about Bt83.7bn in 2017.
