Assets worth $2.5 trillion at risk from 2.5°C rise

Around $2.5 trillion, or 1.8pc, of the world’s financial assets would be at risk from climate change if the global temperature rises by 2.5°C above its pre-industrial level by 2100, a recent joint study by the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and Vivid Economics finds. It estimates the value at risk from climate change as a measure of the potential for asset price corrections because of climate change.
