The 47th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Society for Pediatric Endocrinology(JSPE) was held October 10-12 °2013 at the Asakusa View Hotel in Tokyo with Professor Shigetaka Sugihara, Department of Pediatrics, Tokyo Women's Medical University Medical Center East, as the Chairperson. This hotel is located in a popular tourist spot in which the "tradition" represented by Sensoji Temple is mixed with the "innovation" represented by Tokyo Skytree. The main theme of this meeting was "Aiming for Further Development of Pediatric Endocrinology through Exchanges among Different Subspecialties". JSPE is a professional organization of pediatricians who provide medical care to children with hormonal abnormalities.
