Down at the local coffee shop, the old timers gather every morning to tell stories about how hard life was back in old days. In rural America, these tales often revolve around the weather. Snow storms, ice storms, hail, tornados, frost, drought and floods regularly enter the conversation. 2007 is turning into one of those years — our weather conditions will provide ample fresh material for coffee-shop historians to spin tall tales for years to come.
