Say you had no building experience whatsoever, the last thing you'd contemplate doing is constructing your own house from the ground up, right? So why is it then that some people think that just because you're into cars you should naturally be a motor mechanic and a demon with the oily bits? Tim Dredge is a total car nut but he knew pretty early on that he wasn't cut out for hands-on spanner work: "I never really had the time or patience if I'm honest and, well basically I'm no mechanic." Join the club Tim! "The roll- cage is the perfect example of why I prefer to project manage rather than actually get involved. It was one of the only bits on the car I attempted to tackle myself and, well, you don't want to know what a mess I made of that to begin with," he laughed.
