This paper is the last segment of a four-part series on pecan ecology. Part I discussed site requirement and tree species distribution within river bottom land and tree growth and adaptation to river bottom land (see Pecan South ,Oct. 2005). Part II covered climatic adaptation and reproductive strategies of pecan (see Pecan South, Nov. 2005). Part III discussed seed dispersal mechanisms and adaptability to pests (see Pecan South, Dec. 2005).
