Despite being frequently overshadowed by its Series 1 sibling, and lumbered with a reputation as the boy racers' king, the Series 2 Escort RS Turbo still makes a great case for itself as a brilliant back-road blaster. When people start to talk about RS Turbos - or, more specifically, when people start to compare the relative merits of the Series 1 versus the Series 2 - the accepted wisdom invariably runs that the Series 1 is the more unique car, and s, the more desirable, thanks to its status as a limited-run homologation model. By comparison, some say, the Series 2 is altogether comparative lack of rarity and its softer, more road-friendly setup.
