Is this the ultimate Duratec? We take a look under the skin of the brand-new Cosworth YD engine. The first ever full Cosworth Ford engine since the YB is finally here. Devotees of the YB's big-boost wallop, though, will be disappointed, for the new generation of Cossie engine couldn't be more dissimilar. The YD, to give it its official Cosworth designation, is based on the Duratec-HE engine, as seen in the Mk6 Fiesta ST, though in its most extreme forms, so loose is the relationship that it's more accurate to see it as an entirely separate entity.
