De-mystifying the Role of IPS in CC-GAP

Most IPS members have heard about CC-GAP or in its full name, the Coordinating Committee on Global Action on Peatlands. This is a special committee of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. Beyond that, many of our members are not sure how IPS is involved or what the benefit is to IPS. I will try to provide a brief summary of what this means to IPS. The Ramsar Convention was signed in Ramsar, Iran in 1976. There are more than 140 countries that have signed on to the convention. They meet every three years.
