Iggesund Workington treats raw river water on site

The new water treatment plant at Iggesund Workington is processing some 22 megalitres of raw river water per day for the production of 260,000 tonnes of folding boxboard.To ensure the continuity of supply and high quality process water, the mill decided to manage raw water treatment on site, and the new filtration plant was commissioned a year ago. The automatic/PLC controlled plant is operated from a remote control station in the mill's control room and requires the minimum of supervision.
