Engineering education - debt trap for poor students

WITHOUT proper and transparent study of the demand level for engineers and without matching the capacity creation for engineering education with the job potential for engineers, the Department of Technical Education of Government of India has accorded permission for starting number of new engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu in this academic year. It is said that the applications for starting more engineering colleges are under the consideration.
