Proof of this can be seen in the City of London, where all 128 of the on-street pay-and-display machines now accept credit cards. As Ian Hughes, the Corporation of London's parking contracts and traffic manager, puts it, "the vast majority of the public now have credit cards. It makes sense to give them the option of using plastic to pay for their parking."
