Generating electricity from body heat using thermoelectrics

HUMAN body as a vast resource of energy has always been put to use to accomplish various hard to soft daily activities. Though human body energy is great renewable source of energy but with the rising dependence of human beings on electricity driven devices, people are shunning away from hard work and longing for more and more comfort. However, scientists and engineers are always working towards making use of this (human body energy) resource of energy. Utilizing the human body as an energy source is a very appealing solution for present human being surrounded with electronic gadgets all around. Thermoelectric technology is uniquely suited for generating required levels of electrical energy from body heat to power wireless sensors. They are making it possible by developing and demonstrating a number of wearable thermoelectric devices with integrated energy storage and power management electronics capable of powering various electronic gadgets by harvesting available energy from body heat.
