摘要

Even though he claimed, at the launch of his book Still Fishin' - The B.C. Fishing Industry Revisited, that his editors had tried to keep him off his lecturing "high-horse," Alan Haig-Brown still managed to get in a few licks against some familiar targets. An ex-seine crewman himself, Haig-Brown introduced the book and delivered a slide show at the book launch, held recently at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard in Steveston, B.C. If there is a single point made clear in the book, Haig-Brown emphasizesthe failure of the Canadian fisheries management system on the West Coast to protect salmon.
