Hard- head and soft- heart -the formula for success for small-scale business

I am currently in the US and was a little worried when I read the newspaper headlines this morning "SMALL BUSINESS WORRIED ABOUT FUTURE, Economist says". The report said that companies of 500 or fewer employees that create about 65 percent of new jobs remain worried about the future quoting Mr. Chad Moutray, Chief Economist and director of economic research for the U.S. Small Business administration's office of advocacy. The focus is on entrepreneurs as the main source of job creation and researches suggest that job growth comes from certain firms -"gazelles", that are small but have been around for years and, unlike most small firms that never grow beyond 20 or so employees, are poised to grow rapidly. The report further says, "Don't ignore the mon-and-pop businesses but at the same time there are things we should be doing from a policy perspective that will help small-scale to sustain themselves.
