WITH the increasing use of tactile touch interface and high gloss finish surfaces in various market sectors including packaging, automotive, appliances, consumer goods and teletronics the need for easy-to-clean (E2C) surface property is growing and posing a challenge to designers and coating formulators. As a consequence, investigation of these new functional surfaces has gained increasing interest in the technical and scientific literature. Yet, the most effective solutions currently available are quite costly and consequently only used in high value components such as touch screen displays.
